Xi Mkien Iehor
In 2008 my book Xi Mkien Iehor was published by Merlin Library Ltd. It's written in my first language, Maltese, and though a translation is in the works it will not be available in the english language for a while yet.
The translates to 'Some Other Place', and is a story about identity and choice thematically, while it deals with the surreal tale of two children who, on destroying their home planet, set off across space to find a new one.
It is my first published novel and won second prize in YA fiction in 2008, and best overall design. It is available for purchase around bookshops in Malta.
My Micro-fiction project
A 50-word story of mine. Read more on my blog!
I've had a strong interest in flash fiction for several years now and mantained a microfiction blog. I have a particular interest in very short stories, 50-word stories to be exact. I occasionally write 5, 10 and 20 word 'stories'. In the last year, I went from presenting the stories on plain squares to providing a more artistic base.
Bantam Beasts garland at our stall in Dublin last Spring!
In 2010 I also launched Bantam Beasts with fellow microfiction writer Rhona Flynn. We started to integrate our stories onto a variety of wearable and household items as a means to experiment with stories on unlikely mediums.
We run a Bantam Beasts blog here and have an Etsy shop here.
